A Prayer for the Lenten Season

Eternal and Gracious God

Great is Your grace and mercy toward us. We are grateful for how You have shaped and nurtured us with an everlasting love.

Help us to enter and see this holy season of Lent as a time of spiritual renewal, rather than a time of deprivation so that the process will motivate us to reach a new level. As we begin our journey of introspection and reflection toward spiritual growth, we ask for your forgiveness and continued strength. We need you to help us look deep within ourselves so that we can let go of the old and embrace the new life that comes from You. Give us a new and expanded vision for our lives and a love for who you have created us to be. We ask you to help us to live full of faith rather than fear, trust rather than doubt, and hope in the face of adversity. Enable us to identify with Your suffering and experience the joy of Your resurrection in our daily lives.
