Bible Study Week
May 22, 2009

This week is named Bible Study Week because I am discovering more and more how uplifitng and strengthening it is to have regular times of studying God's Word.  Just this morning I was feeling a little drained. I first thought to myself that I was just a little tired, but then I found myself getting on my knees with the intention of reading some  Bible passages.  As I begin to read, I found that it turned into a study for understanding of what God was saying to me.  I was amazed at how re-juvenated I began to feel.  I was reminded of how faithful God is to us and from Isaiah 55 that His word will accomplish everything that He desires it to accomplish.  I was invited by God to come to Him whenever I am dry and thirsty so that He can speak to my heart and fill me with His abundant supply. Thank God that we listen to our spiritual appetites with the same intensity as we do our physical bodies so that we can get the sustenance that we need on a daily basis from our heavenly Father.

Dear Peola, thank you once again for sharing your inspired words with us. It was very interesting that you spoke of being dry and thirsty; all week I have felt as if I am in a desert - figuratively, mentally, spiritually. Once again you were right on the money in my life and I know that the Lord speaks to me through you. What a blessing it is to know you! Isaiah rocks!

In Him,

I have found that whenever I have a spiritual appetite, the craving doesn't go away until I have spent the time in prayer, study, or in just being quiet before the LORD  Just as physical hunger creates a gnawing on the inside, so does spiritual hunger.   Now we can ignore it but it won't go away.  I have found as you said, that God will speak something during our time together.  The message is for me, to guide me or grow me, or maybe to express love for me.  How sad to think what people are missing by not spending an intimate time with God. Perhaps we would worry less and have more peace not to mention that we would grow closer in our love, trust and joy in him.  He wants to walk with us through life, guide us and encourage us daily.  He is my daily bread.
