Thankful for each day
March 11, 2009

I know this is not the season for thanksgiving, but I don't think of thanksgiving as a season.  Thanksgiving is an everyday occurrence when we wake up each day and have everything still in tact...most especially a sound mind, which we take for granted.  There are so many things going on in people's lives, on a daily basis, that I hear about.  People losing their jobs, can't pay their mortgage, not having enough food to eat, all adding to more strain on families and  marital relationships.  Sometimes because the struggle to survive is so overwhelming people don't think straight, and their minds tell them that there is nothing good in their lives.  I am trying to encourage people to try to think of at least "one thing" each day to thank God for so that it will be a motivator to continue looking for a way forward instead of "giving up."   I am doing this myself, on a daily basis, and finding that it is what helps me to encourage others.  Being thankful to God for "one thing" does not call us to ignore the current struggles, but is a strategy to help in the fight to remain of a sound mind.

I especially like your attitude. Although my Mom was never a belevier, still isn't; as a kid she always told me to stay positive & try to make someone smile every day & life would go well. Today in my walk w/ the Lord, I try to do devotions in the A.M. so I will have just one word to share with others in my daily walk in life.  For me that is what makes my life worth living.  If I can share one word of HIS ways & HIS walk & hopefully someone will latch onto something I have to share, then my life is productive.  Thanks 4 sharing w/ the rest of us, Carrie

Giving thanks for at least one thing is not hard. I would like to join you to give thanks for the fresh air I breathe in every second, the many glasses of  water I need to stay alive every day. We should take at least one minute to give as many thanks to God as possible and do it every hour throughout the day.

Hallelujah, Ann Yeo

I would like to give thanks to my Lord for saving my soul.

He is my God ,my confidant, and my savior.

I love Hime and i pray that everyne would know the love of Jesus and have a personal relationship with Him.

As a child I went to church but I knew I was missing something. It was after I became a grandmother I came to Jesus and began that personal walk with Him.

What a glorious event.

I am thankful for waking up another day with health and God's blessings. I am also thankful that God gives me another chance to do His will. I am truely thankful for all the blessings God has already given me and continue to give me.

First time I've read your blog, and it is quite timely.  I sometimes wake with pain in the middle of the night and when I can't get to sleep, like last night, my mantra was: "Thank you God for my life, now please tell me what to do with it!"  Before long I get more positive and swithch to: " I know in every cell of my body what your will is."  Better than counting sheep, I got a few more zzzzz's, and feel more certain the knowing will be doing very soon.

I always feel thankful for Lent because it makes a better person out of me.

God bless, Rieke
