About Me
Bio:
I am the preaching minister at the Monterey Church of Christ. My duties are to preach, teach, shepherd and direct the affairs of the church (1 Timothy 4:17). My wife, Crystal, and I have been married since June 27, 1998. I grew up near Indianapolis, Indiana and have lived and ministered in North Carolina and Virginia since 1989. My wife Crystal grew up near Charlotte, North Carolina. Crystal is part of a preacher''s family. My family are Christians but have experienced divorce. On March 8, 2000 we welcomed twin boys into our family- Alexander and Andy. We know that the Lord has a sense of humor because we welcomed another set of twin boys- Zach and Zane, on April 2, 2004. They have changed our lives drastically and are blessings from God.
Journey: My family moved from the country to the city when I was 13. Because of loneliness and all of the changes in my life I sought out Jesus because he will never leave me nor forsake me and he is a friend that sticks closer than any brother. I have found all of this to be proven true in my life!
Interests & Activities: Basketball; reading (mainly history); playing board games; fishing; collecting coins; traveling; hiking
Denomination: Christian
Goals and Dreams: The Lord has been gracious and I am living out my dreams. I love my job, ministry and family.
Inspirations and Role Models: Richard Clark (my youth minister), My dad, mom and grandparents! My wife who has to deal with me and my children! John Huss (A figure from history)
Proudest Moment: To be able to participate in someones baptism!
Biggest Challenge: As they say around here, to not get above my raising (pride, arrogance). Also, to not let my weakness toward certain sins to get the better of me!
My Favorites
Bible Verses: 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18: Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances
Books: Dr. Lynn Anderson: They Smell Like Sheep; Rick Warren: The Purpose-Driven Church; The Holy Bible
Music: 80s Music and anything that I can sing to
Bible Teachers: Charles Spurgeon; J. Vernon McGee
Quotes: Senate Chaplain Peter Marshall once began a U.S. Senate session with this prayer: ?O Lord, forgive us for thinking our prayer is a waste of time, and help us to see that without prayer, our work is a waste of time.?
