  MARCI ALBORGHETTI and her husband Charlie of New London, Connecticut, try to follow Jesus’ directive to help the poor wherever they are, whether it involves volunteering for a food pantry in northern California, supporting a homeless shelter in town, or trying to raise money for friends in Sierra Leone and southern India. Yet the more Marci does, the more she realizes that living the Word demands a lot. “What little we do really is never enough,” she says. “For us to truly live the Gospels, we must remember how Jesus warned us that from those who have been given much, much will be required. How often does He say, ‘Sell your possessions and give to the poor’? Yet how many of us manage this? It’s a challenge to live the Word while living in the world. It’s also the most exciting journey we can take!”
